A couple of infos about my background
I'm an avid fan of football management games, must have played almost all of them.
It started with "The Manager" and "Championship Manager" in the 90s, going on with the likes of "Premier Manager", "Ultimate Soccer Manager" or "Bundesliga Manager" series.
Even played some curiosities like "Anpfiff - Der RTL Fussball Manager" or "Tactical Manager".
Among them all, the Anstoss series has always held a special place in my heart because... well, because it's Anstoss.
The humour, the funny features like private life, stocks market or the bribing of referees really put these pieces of software apart, culminating in the extraordinary Anstoss 3.
So I'm very happy to see that a new team has taken over, especially given the lack of alternatives to Sega's Football Manager since EA Sports have stopped their own series.
Now my first impressions of the game after a couple of hours of playing.
I must say I'm positively impressed, even if it's a work in progress. The game runs smoothly, even on my below minimum specs laptop and I didn't encounter any freeze or other technical problems so far.
I find the interface and the general design rather clean and pleasing to the eye. Yes there are some screens where the text is difficult to read due to bad contrast between font and background colours, as many here complained, but that's something easy to fix.
The level of details, the screen flow or the time needed to complete a week are all good and in line with its predecessors.
No licences OK, never been and probably never will given the costs of those but hey, who cares when we have fans dedicated to producing quality user files (a big thanks to them by the way).
Up to now I'm having a lot of fun playing the game, even if I'm crap (poor Sheffield Wednesday is currently having to "benefit" from my management skills...).

- in the line-up screen, the players list reverts to the default sorting order after each modification I make. This is a little bit nerving because what I want is to constantly have my players listed by team sector (keepers, defenders, and so on) in order to compare them and pick the right ones, I don't need to have them sorted by selection status since I already have the line-up displayed above
- again in the line-up screen, it'd be nice to have some more stats, like number of games played/number of sub appearances, average rating or goals scored
- in the training module, it'd be great to have a tooltip explaining the basic effects of a session when you hover your mouse over it
- basically I'm enjoying the match day experience (I'm playing with scenes on) but I'm lacking some more info about the proceedings in order to better react to events. In other words, when I'm losing, I'm generally at pain to determine why (apart from players rating). Some more stats or feedback from your ass man would help.
- some translation errors in English (flanken is not "flanking" but "crossing" and a pass leading to a goal is not a "template" but an "assist").
And finally some questions I have for the development team
- in Anstoss 3 you could let a player learn a new position, is it something you're planning to implement ? I's annoying to have two good LM when you only play with LW...
- will you add more scenes to the match engine and can you confirm each existing scene has two versions (missed chance and converted chance) ? So far I have a feeling most of them only have one version which is bad for suspense. I also noticed there are no (or are they ?) scoring opportunities from corners, free-kicks or penalties.
